📣Read Each Day📚---a Message from Mrs. Nartowicz

As this school year is coming to a close and summer nears, we would like to provide you with some resources to use over the summer to help keep our students’ minds fresh and brain muscles busy. You may have heard the term “summer slippage,” but what is it? Some studies have shown that over the summer, students may lose some of the skills they have learned in reading. However, this is not a guarantee and does not apply to all children. Literacy skills are like muscles💪🏼- the more you use them, the stronger they get. Please encourage your children to continue to read over the next couple of months. Summer is a time where children can reread books, read a new book, listen to audio books, read e-books, novels, magazines, and all other forms of literature that will help work their literacy muscles.📚

Please see below a multitude of summer reading resources and challenges that children can participate in this summer. As a reminder, our children can use the Sora App to "check out" books from the NYC area libraries.

Summer Reading Challenges

After searching the internet, I found a library that is doing a fun summer reading challenge. Families can print out by following the website linked above or clicking here. This is a fun way to encourage your child to read.
