The Ivy Connection November 2014
Chi Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
The end of 2015 is nearing, but we should all take time this month to be thankful for
our family, friends and sisterhood. This Thanksgiving poem, adapted from Ralph
Waldo Emerson, is for you:
For each new morning with its’ light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love, friends and sisterhood,
Thy goodness sends.
Sorors, have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday with your family and know that
sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks
the doors of heaven.
November Program Updates
November 17th – Annual Thanksgiving Donation - we will donate items to the Community Helpers Center in Knightdale, NC. The committee will purchase and donate items to the center on behalf of Chi Rho Omega Chapter. This effort will be led by Soror BriAnna Walker and the Global Proverty Initiative.
November 22nd – Backpack Buddy Program – we will donate food items to area schools in our service area for the students to be able to take home bags during the Thanksgiving holidays. This effort will be led by Sorors Nicole Francis Mason and Danielle Moody and the Social Justice and Human Rights.
