5K Camo Color Run
Sponsored by the Municipal Alliance
On Sunday, September 24, many members of the greater Wharton community participated in the Municipal Alliance 5K Camo Color Run. The purpose of this event, like others sponsored by the Municipal Alliance, is to promote healthy lifestyles and choices, by avoiding the risks of drugs and alcohol.
The Municipal Alliance provides funding for drug and alcohol programs for all middle school sending districts as well as the high schools.
This year the run celebrated an honored the men and women that serve our country in the armed services. With that, the American Legion Post 91, Marines and the Army National Guard all had representatives at the event. Additionally, the National Guard provided physical activities for both spectators and participants to engage themselves in.
A special thank you to the Mayor and Town Council, Teacher Education Associations, Wharton Police and Fire Departments and the Wharton School District, all for attending and supporting the Color Run.
