Monday Memo

May 2, 2016

Thank you all for making a positive difference in the lives of your students on a daily basis. I know sometimes it feels that educators, and the importance of what we do, are unappreciated, but I know we all are working together to build a great future. You all are an extremely important entity at Rice Middle School and if it wasn't for what you do each day, we wouldn't be where we are now. Our students continue to thrive under your lead and will be better off after they have been in your classroom.

I think the only way you can truly appreciate what an educator does is to be there to witness the excitement in the classroom, experience a child learning something for the first time, and facilitating the growth of a class of students each year. The students are why we are here and you all have done a great job helping them grow both academically and socially. You make a difference and I am happy you all chose to make education as your profession.

As a small token of appreciation, we will have something each day to celebrate the staff at Rice Middle School. Be on the lookout for Kendyl's email!

Again, THANK YOU!!!!

Early voting ends tomorrow. It literally takes more time to park than it does to vote. Davis Library is the closest location for Early Voting. If you miss out today or tomorrow, the actual Election Day is this Saturday.

Thanks to the Science Department

PDAS Observation Window Closes This Friday

If you are being appraised through PDAS by Kendyl, Sara, or me this year, please complete your TSR, parts 2 and 3.

Make sure you have the following dates on your calendar.

We will need your help on each of these days, either through being a test administrator or monitoring the students. Unfortunately, not all students are testing on the same days, so 8th grade teachers will be asked to help keep the 8th graders busy. Sarena will be visiting with a few of you to create a plan. If you have any other ideas, please share them with us.
