Principal's Report

It's hard to believe that we've finished our first full week of school! From our preschool class all the way to our 5th graders, students have settled in to the routine of school and begun to create a community in our classrooms. New friendships are forming and old ones are renewed. It has been great to see a student's face light up when he sees a friend in the cafeteria or on the playground!

Our teachers have worked hard on establishing routines and procedures to ensure a smoothly run classroom, but just as importantly they are working to form positive connections with each of our kids. Just one example of this is occurring all over our building-- teachers are welcoming students in to class with their choice of greeting. Whether with a fist bump, high five, or special handshake, each student starts the day knowing that his or her teacher is excited for them to be at Oakview. Game Changing!
