Greetings MCS Families,

I would like to congratulate 3rd grader Jorja, 4th grader Michael, and 5th grader Molly, for winning the Upper Elementary MLK Art Award and 4th grader Efthymis, who won the Essay portion. The award consists of a certificate, as well as a $25 gift certificate for BookPeople. The awards willl be presented at the MLK Jr. Breakfast on Saturday, January 18th beginning at 9 AM at the Moscow Middle School, 1410 E. D Street in Moscow. I am very proud of these students and all of our students that submitted for this contest!

Construction has been moving along quickly. You probably noticed, after coming back from our winter break, the walls were up and a lot of the framing had been completed. This week was focused on the boards for the roof and getting tar paper down to protect the sheets from staining. The inside of the new building will share a lot of characteristics of our main building, with the open beams and high ceilings.

On Monday they will begin putting on the actual roof and plan to have the building dried in by the end of the week. Windows should be arriving soon after and they will begin on the interior work. I will continue to add more pictures to show progress to our Facebook page and under the expansion portion of our website. It is really exciting to see this dream, that started 6 years ago, becoming a reality.
