Return to School Steps at Patterson
Thank you to all of our families who completed the return to school survey! We will be using this information to continue planning for hybrid learning, which we plan to start on March 29th. Here are our dates by grade for hybrid return:
- Kinder - 2nd Grade, March 29th
- 3rd - 4th Grade, April 5th
- 5th - 6th Grade, April 12th
This week our blueprint team will be using survey data to work on classroom cohorts and classroom placement, bathroom and beginning of the day pathways, and to continue our work on the schedule.
We currently have one group of LIPI (limited in-person instruction) taking place in our building on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and we are planning to expand our first group, as well as add our second group next week. LIPI falls under the umbrella of CDL and allows us to bring in a very small number of students for supplemental instruction.
We are also beginning to plan for LIPA (limited in-person assessment) for some of our students in our Bilingual Programs. These students are required to take the ELPA (English Language Proficiency Assessment) and we will be bringing students into our building in small groups, similar to LIPI.
I would encourage you to continue to reach out via email if you have any questions. We are so thankful for a supportive community and we are excited to continue to expand the number of students we bring on-campus safely.
Important Dates:
2/25 - Bilingual Programs Return to School Q & A, 6:30 pm (see below)
3/22-3/26 - No School, Spring Break
3/29 - K-2 Hybrid Instruction Begins
If you have any questions, comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out: lentzj@hsd.k12.or.us.

Curbside Library Check Out
If your child has checked out a book but missed curbside library check out, please email our office team to arrange a time for pick-up: gearharm@hsd.k12.or.us.
Students are welcome to choose 2 books for pickup (even if they currently have books checked out) and can bring their returns to the wooden box by our front door between 7:00 am - 4:30 pm. Here's a 45-second reminder video. Here's the link to the library website (a tutorial/reminder for logging in is in the tile right at the top of the page).
Mrs. Lewis is available to answer questions via email or Google Voice at 971-251-0110.
Talent Show
Is your child a talented singer, dancer, musician, juggler, comedian, magician, or has a very special skill that others find entertaining? Yes, great!! We are looking for videos of Patterson kids sharing their talents for this year’s virtual talent show! Unlike the traditional talent show, there will not be any auditions, and the talent show will be broken up into 15 minute long broadcasts that will be shared with classrooms to be presented in the Morning Meetings of March. There are a few guidelines that need to be followed in video submissions:
The acts must be school-appropriate, and that includes the lyrics of any songs used.
The videos will be emailed to Mrs. Crackel at crackeld@hsd.k12.or.us, with the full name of the student, homeroom teacher’s name, parent’s name and phone number.
Each video should be under three minutes in length.
Videos should be turned in by March 1.
Please contact Mrs. Crackel at crackeld@hsd.k12.or.us with any questions you may have.
