LISD HUMAN SEXUALITY PRESENTED BY LIFEGUARD

In Leander ISD, students in Grades 7–9 are taught Human Sexuality Curriculum through presentations by LifeGuard, an independent organization. The topics covered in this abstinence-based curriculum are found in the Texas Health TEKS. All content has been reviewed by the Leander ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) and is grade-level specific and developmentally appropriate.

Running Brushy Middle School 7th & 8th graders must opt-in (see below) to participate in the LifeGuard presentations set to take place:

School Dance

“Sole”mates School Dance is Friday, February 17. See flyer for cost and details.


Only RBMS students are allowed to attend the school dance and we have a staggered dismissal to help with traffic flow. 6th grade will dismiss at the cafeteria and 7th/8th grade will dismiss from the front.

Concessions will include pizza, blizzards, donuts, pickles, various candy and drinks. There will be dancing in the big gym and open gym activities in the small gym.

Mrs. Alanis, 6th grade counselor, will be doing 7th grade registration on the dates listed below. Your student will be bringing home a choice sheet. All choice sheets are due to your student's Science teacher no later than March 3rd. If you have any questions you may email Mrs. Alanis at lynette.alanis@leanderisd.org

A Note From The Clinic

Medication Procedures


Medication may be administered at school with a parent or guardian's written request that there is need for medication during the school day and the parent brings the medication to the clinic. This include both prescription and over-the-counter medications. Please see the Request to Administer Medication form in English and Spanish.

6th Grade Super Saturday

Food Drive for RBMS Cougar Cupboard

Donations will be collected by grade level and held in 2-week increments. 7th grade collects from Monday, Feb. 13 to Friday, Feb. 24.


We especially need these items (no glass please):

Canned tuna, chicken, corned beef, Vienna sausages, SPAM, chili, soup, canned fruit and vegetables.

Oatmeal, cereal, granola bars, Hamburger/Tuna/Chicken Helper, stuffing mix, scalloped potatoes, and instant mashed potatoes.

Early College High School

Students at the Leander ISD Early College High school may earn up to 60 college credit hours completely FREE from Austin Community College while also earning their high school diploma.
