Family Update 12/11/21
Scott Dual Language Magnet
Dear Scott Families,
We have had a great week with your scholars! On Thursday, they had a special holiday meal for lunch! Most students thought the cake was best and ended up with green tongues! It was perfect as some staff dressed up as the grinch!
We’ve been celebrating our staff with the help of our two fabolous community partners, Clayton Wealth Partners and US Bank. They have already funded and helped set up a coffee and hot chocolate bar, smores treats, and bought muffins as part of our Days until Winter Break Countdown celebrations. We could not be more thankful for their generous support in helping our teachers feel appreciated.

3rd Grade Feature
3rd Grade Multiplication Sundaes
Third graders are working towards being proficient in multiplication facts 0-10. They are working towards an ice cream sundae by the end of the year. Each set of facts represents a different part of the sundae they can earn. Each student is working on a set of facts they need at their own pace so they can take the time they need to master each one. We are looking forward to being multiplication masters and enjoying a sweet treat at the end of the year.

Important Updates
Winter Break
Quarter 3 Ends on December 17th. Winter Break starts on December 20 and goes through January 4th. Students start back to school on January 5th.
Holiday Travel
Parents, please note that additional holiday travel needs to be called into the office. Failing to report your child’s absence results in unexcused absences and affects their attendance records. It is extremely important that students are in school and learning. We discourage parents from taking students out of school the week of December 13-17 as we have district assessments planned during this time. If you know your child will not be present, please call the office and let your child’s teacher know.
Inclement Weather
Topeka Public Schools will NOT have remote learning on inclement weather days. We will observe "snow days."
