GMS Game Plan: Parent Newsletter
April 22nd-26th
GMS Families,
Last week, all we launched a new digital hall pass system called, "Minga." We appreciate all of our students and teachers being flexible as we learn this new platform! Progress Reports will be going with students on Monday! Please look over these and check in with your students regarding turning in quality work! We have lots of students on the ICU list and we want to get that list to 0 by Friday! Our EAST Night Out will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00. Come purchase some coffee or dinner from the Taco Loco food truck and see what our EAST students have been working on. We will also have our Annual Greenbrier Games Opening Ceremony Pep Rally on Friday!
Arrival and drop off: please make sure you are using the designated middle school car rider lines for drop off and pick up of students in the morning and afternoons. Car riders going to the MS and JH middle split, MUST GO AROUND the loop and NOT straight!! See below for the car rider traffic patterns!!

A few reminders:
- ICU will continue every Thursday and Friday. If your student has missing assignments, teachers will place them on the ICU list until it completed. ICU is an opportunity for students to complete their work with a staff member during lunch. Students bring their lunch to the ICU location and participates in a "working lunch." Our goal is for all students to turn in high quality work, on time
- Please help us remind our students to get their BEST work turned in ON TIME!
- Please help us remind students to bring their chromebook and charger, everyday! Don't forget to follow us on facebook to see what is happening at GMS!
- All students need to be in class by 7:50. Please help us make sure all students are present and ready for learning! If you arrive after 7:50, a parent must check in their student in the office. Please make sure you are aware of attendance and policy protocols.
Please check out out our Go Guardian application that enable parents and guardians the ability to view their children’s Internet access history, block specific websites, pause their children’s Internet, and schedule Internet availability on managed devices. We are excited to offer this safety measure for our students and families.

We are thrilled to invite you to join us for our 4th annual Walk for Hope on Saturday, April 27th! This event, hosted by our Greenbrier High School Lifesavers Club, is a powerful testament to our commitment to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.
The Out of the Darkness Run/Walk is more than just a walk; it's a journey of hope, healing, and remembrance. By participating, you're not only honoring the lives lost to suicide but also spreading a message of compassion and support for those struggling with mental health challenges. All participants are invited to stay afterwards as the Greenbrier School Counseling Team will host a special 30-40 minute presentation in the dining hall called "Talk Saves Lives."
Together, we can make a difference. Whether you're walking to honor a loved one, to support a friend, or simply to raise awareness, your presence matters. Every step we take brings us closer to a world where mental health is understood, stigma is eradicated, and support is readily available for all.
