Summary

Molasses may not be toxic but left many fish dead after polluting the water "Forming a sticky plume that killed thousands of fish in just a few days."

Facts

1. When this much of molasses into the sea it can raise algae populations and it robs the water of oxygen

2. This spill is hard to pick up as it all sinks to the bottom or the water

3. Even after the Molasses drains from the harbor it could effect coral reefs further from the harbor.

4. "A 233,000-gallon molasses spill has killed thousands of marine creatures off the coast of Honolulu."

5.Hawaii has to just wait for the sludge to wash away.

6.If the molasses does not wash away quick enough state officials may have some options for cleaning it up themselves.
