Navigating A Snow Day...
Staff:
I hope you are all shoveled out, warm and enjoying your day. I can tell you the boys are working hard to to ensure we are cleaned up for tomorrow. As you know there is a round two of this storm and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it misses us and we can return to business. Anyway, this week we will be having our Term #1 Scholar Recognition Breakfast. We are scheduled for 5th & 6th grade tomorrow and 7th & 8th grade on Wednesday. Both sessions are scheduled to go from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Students will be called down at 8:25 a.m. and they will return to you by 9:30 a.m. A special thanks to all for handing out the invitations last week. We have two speakers coming in from Shepherd Hill: Bryan Santos-Ramos and Katherine Fengler, both of whom are really excelling at Shepherd Hill. I'm excited to hear their message and catch up with them. If you are free, please come to the auditorium and/or cafeteria to join us. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. If by chance we have a delay or cancellation, we will move Tuesday's ceremony to Thursday. I am hopeful Mother Nature will cooperate.
On another note, we will be looking for faculty feedback on our Handbook. I will be attaching a link to access our current Handbook. Over the next few weeks, please take a look at it when you can and offer feedback for areas you would like to see added, improved or deleted. I will be bringing your feedback to our school council in January. Additionally, I would like social studies teachers to pick a day in December and review the Handbook with your students; it will make a great mini-lesson creating student voice and understaning of how and why Handbooks are needed. I will be adding a Form for Social Studies Teachers in their Google Classroom to use for feedback for students. I would recommend selecting one or two students as leaders to collect student viewpoints and record the class responses. I will follow up with social studies teachers later this week to field any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance for helping to create an active voice for our school.
I hope everyone has an amazing week!
Dean
