Appearance & Classification
Zebras are the smallest kind of horse. Zebras weight is about 950 pounds, wow! That's huge. Their height is at least 6ft tall. The color of a zebra is of course, black and white. Their skin cover is black and white stripes. Here is a very interesting fact, zebras have three toes on each foot but it's covered by it's skin and fur. Wow, right? A zebra is a mammal. It is a mammal if they give birth to its babies.
Habitat Information
Do you know where zebras live? Zebras live in Southern Africa where there's tons of room. They live in the open grassland and plains.
Predator & Prey
Zebras have a lot of enemies. Some are leopards, lions, hyenas, wild dogs and crocodiles. Yikes!!! If zebras are in danger, they kick, bite then' run away.
Zebras eat so many different kind of food. They eat leaves, bugs and grass. They are plant eaters. When they find their food in the open, they have to be careful of predators.
Fascinating facts
Here's some interesting facts about zebras. First, did you know zebras have different kind of stripes? Some go up and some go down. Interesting right? Next, zebras can run up to 40 miles an hour. Wow! Lastly, their stripes are like fingerprints. No two are exactly the same. But they can identify each other by their stripes.
