SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Celebrating the Class of 2020
Brooke Doll
Why did you decide to attend NCVA?
Brick and mortar school never felt right. I had little motivation to go to school and didn’t feel comfortable in the environment. I saw a posting about NCVA and applied immediately!
How has being a student at NCVA helped you in working toward your goals?
Being a student at NCVA has allowed me to discover what I love doing while in an environment that feels welcoming and safe. The teachers and students are inviting and I feel like I can reach out whenever I need something.
What do you plan to do after you graduate from high school?
I plan to attend NCSU Wilson College of Textiles and major in Apparel Design.
What advice would you give other students on being successful in high school?
Remember to take time for yourself and do your best. You’ll thank yourself for submitting that paper or going to that 8am class later.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy sewing, design, drawing, playing video games, and photography.
Have you completed any volunteer work?
I volunteered with PASSPORT Camps over the summer and helped at my local veterinary hospital.
Who or what inspires you?
My inspiration changes a lot, but I’m constantly inspired by things and people around me. My friends, my pets, nature, and public figures inspire me daily. Everyone has different viewpoints and ideas and that in itself makes it hard to choose just one person I’m inspired by!
