Good evening Farb Families, here is this week’s Sunday Update!
It is hard to believe this is our last week of school. To our 8th grade families we wish you and your student the very best as you begin a new journey in high school. To our 6th and 7th graders we are excited to see you all back in the Fall. If you are moving, we wish you the best in your new school. We hope you all have a wonderful summer!
Remember that Wednesday, June 14th is the last day of school and it is a minimum day, so all students are released at 2:30 pm.
8th Grade Information
A letter was sent home to 8th grade families at the beginning of May. (please see link to letter here). For any questions, please contact Lexi Schad at aschad@sandi.net.
Parkway Bowl Field Trip: Make sure your student has turned in their permission slip. Students will have pizza and snacks at the event. They will need to bring socks for bowling shoes, but do not need to bring anything else, as everything is provided, including video games. Please be sure your student follows the school dress policy (page 7 of student planner)!
Promotion: Promotion is 6/14 at 9:30 am on the field. Gates will open at 8:30 am for guests. Students need to be in the auditorium by 8:45. Please no latex balloons. The ceremony is about 2 hours and there will be cake and punch in the lunch court following the ceremony. 8th Grade students are able to leave with their families after promotion, but be sure to sign your student out at the front gate.
Textbooks and Laptops
If you are planning to move over the summer and you are not returning to Farb nor a high school in our district, then we ask that you return your laptop to our counseling center by June 14th.
Pride Month Celebration
Our student leaders have planned for this Tuesday to celebrate our friends who are part of the LGBTQIA community. Students who wish to participate can wear rainbow colors to school.
Reminders for Next School Year 2023-24
The 2023-24 school year will begin on August 21, 2023. School will continue to begin at 9:00 am. Please save the date for our annual Back to School BBQ on August 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Farb. We will send out a reminder at the beginning of August.
Information from Canyon Hills HS for 8th grade Families
9th Grade Bridging: CHHS will host a 3 days bridging opportunity for 9th graders. Please see the link here to sign up.
High School Sports: For anyone student who wants to play Football or other sports in the fall, please see link here for all your sports information for CHHS.
Summer football practice starts June 15th at Canyon Hills High School. Let’s get ready for a great season! Please contact Coach Cook at mcook5@sandi.net for more information.
