THE L2C ENTREPRENEURSHIP INSTITUTE free L.E.E.P TO COLLEGE FOUNDATION youth business program. The L2C Entrepreneurship Institute is a one-week business immersion program for middle school (7th-8th) and high school students across the country. The goal is to enhance skill sets that are essential for students to progress successfully through high school, college, business school, and entrepreneurship. Scholars experience interactive sessions that will develop skills such as reading, writing, critical thinking, professional etiquette, financial literacy, and public speaking.

SMASH Academy, is a three-year STEM- intensive residential college prep program that empowers students to deepen their talents and pursue STEM careers. Every summer, scholars are immersed in tuition-free studies at leading universities throughout the country. During the academic year, scholars participate in monthly programming. They are coached by instructors of color that represent the future they can have. Because of their common background, students connect more deeply with instructors and gain true mentorship from these STEM professors and industry professionals. As they go through the program, scholars not only develop their skills and network – they also find their voice and build the confidence to become who they want to be.
The Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program is a free 7-week introductory computer science program for 10th-11th-grade girls going into their junior or senior year of high school. During the 7-week program, participants learn about computer science, gain exposure to tech jobs, and join a sisterhood of girls who are using computer science to become change-makers. Programs are available in multiple cities across the country.

Camp Launch is a free two-week residential summer camp for rising seventh- and eighth-grade high-ability, low-income students held on the William & Mary campus. Students will have the opportunity to take classes that are based upon science and writing curriculum units geared toward this population of students.

Apply now for ARISE Summer 2020! The NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Applied Research Innovations in Science and Engineering (ARISE) program has graduated over 300 high school students. This free program is for academically motivated, current 10th and 11th grade New York City students with a demonstrated interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
This full-time, seven-week program includes a high level, 5-week authentic research experience in participating NYU faculty labs, mentoring in that placement by a graduate or postdoctoral student, a stipend of at least $500 for completing the program, as well as two weeks of workshops, college advisement and other activities geared to preparing ARISE students for the college application process.

During this 12-day residential immersion experience, REEX/LEAD scholars will engage with top academic faculty and professionals in the commercial real estate industry at Cornell, MIT, U of Miami, and Roosevelt University. Scholars will participate in experiential learning activities through both hands-on instruction, case studies, site visits, and competitive pitch presentations—challenging themselves during the LEADing For Life Challenge phase to identify and develop industry enterprise ideas designed to make meaningful change in the world. Need-based scholarships are available.

Berkeley Engineering has designed the Girls in Engineering program to give middle school girls the opportunity to experience hands-on engineering activities on the Berkeley campus. Taught by Berkeley female faculty, staff, and students, the program promotes leadership skills and inspires confidence in the participants to pursue STEM fields. It also provides girls an opportunity to learn firsthand about the exciting world of engineering!
The Berkeley Girls in Engineering program is a week-long, non-residential summer camp for San Francisco Bay Area students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades to explore different aspects of what it means to be an engineer in a fun, hands-on environment.

The HHMI High School Scholars Research Program is an exciting opportunity for public and private school Miami-Dade students with a passion for science to gain hands-on research experience. Students work in teams to conduct biomedical research over the course of seven weeks at the University of Miami. Program Overview: Placements are available in areas such as biology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, ophthalmology, and other research areas.

University of Nebraska: All Girls All Math Camp
This weeklong summer mathematics camp for high school girls provides a stimulating and supportive environment for girls to develop their mathematical ability and interest. Participants learn about the exciting mathematics of Codes, interact with peers who share an interest in mathematics, and work with female mathematics graduate students and professors who earned their Ph.Ds. from Nebraska.

Columbia Engineering Summer High School Academic Program for Engineers (SHAPE) is a selective summer program for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The program is geared toward local students who have demonstrated an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Each 3-week session offers college-level courses in robotics, computer science, electrical and biomedical engineering, which are complemented by electives and workshops

Spend four weeks at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine intensive program designed for high school juniors and seniors interested in medical careers. Modeled after actual Penn Medicine classes, you’ll gain exposure to the basics of medical training including suturing, drawing blood, IVs, dissections and minimally invasive surgical techniques. The high–tech, jaw-dropping learning space is every student’s dream. You’ll learn from the highly accredited Penn faculty, who are extremely hands-on throughout the program. Students also have the rare opportunity to observe a live surgery in Penn’s surgical amphitheater. This program is a solid first step into pre-med education and careers.

Linking Individuals to their Natural Community (LINC) is a summer internship program for high school students based in our spectacular local park lands. The six-week program begins with a 4-day camping trip followed by a variety of local service projects, fun field trips, and useful workshops in which participants gain career and leadership skills. Projects and activities vary by week and include trail work, plant propagation, and habitat restoration. At the conclusion of the program, all participants receive a $1000 cash award.

The Summer Legal Institute or “SLI” is JTB’s free cornerstone youth program. The SLI is a one-week legal immersion program for high school students across the country. The goal of the SLI is to enhance skill sets that are essential for students to progress successfully through high school, college and law school. Scholars experience interactive sessions that will develop skills such as reading, writing, critical thinking, professional etiquette, financial literacy, and public speaking. Through a unique curriculum designed to enhance these skill sets, the SLI program inspires diverse students to pursue advanced degrees and careers in the legal profession.
