Pop art is the abbreviation for popular art, a style that emerged as a direct response to abstract expressionism. The style emerged in the UK and US during the 1950s and was inspired by everyday objects and bright colours, so that everyone could appreciate and enjoy it. Andy Warhol and Roy Lichenstein are two very famous pop artists.
Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928 Pittsburugh, Pennsylvania, United States. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. He died February 22, 1987 (aged 58) New York City, U.S.
Roy Lichtenstien was born in October 27, 1923, Manhattan. Early in the 1960s, Lichtenstein was often casually accused of merely copying his pictures from cartoons, his method involved some considerable alteration of the source images. His work was drawing mailny cartoons.
