A message from our school nurse ~ Mrs. Jill Kerwin
Hi everyone,
Happy New Year!
Unfortunately, the new year is bringing with it new germs. Cases of the flu seem to be increasing in New Jersey. See video below:
https://www.njtvonline.org/news/video/health-officials-flu-is-now-widespread-across-nj/
Common symptoms of the flu include:
- Fever and chills
- Headache
- Cough
- Muscle/Body aches
- Fatigue
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
For more information on the flu and ways to keep you and your family healthy, see information below from the Centers for Disease Control:
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/index.html
Please remember that if your child is sick, please keep them home from school.
They must remain at home until they have been
- fever free for 24 hours without medication.
- vomiting free for 24 hours.
- diarrhea free for 24 hours.
Our custodial staff is being diligent with cleaning but please encourage your children to be diligent about hand washing as that is one of the best ways to stop the spread of germs.
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2020.
