A Message from the Principal
We have included a video link below for our students who have indicated that they will start the year virtually. Please view it for important information on how attendance will be taken for virtual learners and how they will be able to access their classes and interact with their teachers from home.
Our teachers are committed to making our virtual students as successful as possible, but virtual learners will have to take some initiative to ensure this commitment is realized. Class expectations and accountability will parallel those of our in-person learners, therefore, grading and awarding of credit for courses will be determined solely based on a learner's ability to demonstrate the progression of mastery towards the learning concepts required in each course.
We will share a video with in-person learners on the first day of school and make it available to parents in next week's newsletter.
Thank you,
Landon Winton
Principal

Virtual Learners Drive Through Supply and Ipad Pick-up
Vehicles will enter the parking lot from Woodrow road on the southeast side of campus and proceed to the circle drive. Staff members will bring supplies to vehicles near the west entrance to the competition gym. Please see the map below for details.
Virtual learners who are new to the district or have not already picked up their school issued ipads will need to come into the building to go through the ipad checkout process. We are not able to give ipads out in the drive through area due to a multi-step checkout process that requires WiFi access.
After going through the drive through supply line, students will need to park in the teacher parking lot on the north side of the building and enter the door closest to the food truck.
Virtual learners who do not already have ipads can come at the same time as traditional learners, August 17th and 18th from 8am-4pm. The two groups will enter through different locations and will not be in proximity to one another.

What if I Didn't Make it to Schedule Pick-up?
What if I need a Schedule Change?
Please refer to our schedule change policy if you feel that you need a schedule change. You can find the schedule change policy by clicking the link below.
Students will have ONE opportunity to change their schedule from August 4th through the first full week of school ending on August 28th. The one opportunity includes any schedule changes requested on the day you pick up your schedule.
LUBBOCK-COOPER HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS SAFETY PLAN
Personal Protective Equipment
Each student will receive one reusable cloth face covering, but may elect to wear a face covering of their own (logos and images must comply with LCISD dress code).
A limited number of disposable face coverings will be available when students lose or misplace their cloth mask.
Lubbock-Cooper High School will follow the guidelines established by Governor Abbott in regard to wearing face coverings while on campus.
Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available throughout the building, including in each classroom.
Logistics
All students and faculty will be expected to self screen for COVID-19 symptoms before arriving at school.
Student drivers and those dropped off by parents will enter the front doors to the school (closest to the flagpole).
Prior to the first period bell, socially distanced seating will be available in the commons, competition gym, and outdoor courtyard on the north side of the building.
Passing periods will be extended with a staggered release to assist with congestion in the halls and all students will be expected to wear face coverings during passing periods.
Plans to reroute foot traffic will be in place for areas with a tendency to bottleneck.
Classrooms
Student desks will be positioned as far apart as possible.
Students will be expected to wear face coverings when unable to socially distance in the classroom.
Teachers will be able to teach without a face covering when socially distanced from students.
Commonly used equipment and materials will be sanitized at the conclusion of each class period.
Cafeteria
A reduced number of seats will be available in the commons for meals. Additional seating has been made available in the competition gym and north courtyard.
Students will scan their student ID badge instead of keying in their ID number when purchasing food. This will assist with reducing cross contamination.
The LCISD Food Services Department has established an app to pre-order food, reducing the need to wait in line.
Floor markers to indicate proper distancing will be located in each food service line.
The Governor's Face Coving Order is in Effect
