Easy ways to help our school!
Hy-vee Receipts
Hy-Vee will give Jackson $1 for every $200 collected in receipts!
This fundraiser is easy and does not require you to do anything
beyond what you already do by shopping at Hy-Vee.
Qualifying Receipts must be from Cedar Rapids and Marion Hy-Vee locations and can include: Grocery, Catering, Pharmacy, Fuel, Hy-Vee Starbucks and Caribou, Wine & Spirits, Market Grille and more!
Please help Jackson earn money for our school!!
Receipts can be sent to school with your child or drop them off at school. The Hy-Vee receipts collection bin is located right outside the main office at the top of the stairs.
Box Tops
Amazon Smile

Counseling Corner
Research shows that up to 30% of children have been affected by anxiety, and that number is only going up. When presented with these numbers, many people cite the spike in technology use, especially social media. Having 24/7 access to everyone else’s “highlight reel” can cause a whole host of problems.
But, thankfully, there are some ways that technology can be used for good purposes when it comes to anxiety. Today, I want to share with you three free apps that support people with anxiety.
Woebot
Woebot is an app that gives you the opportunity to talk through and process some of your feelings of anxiety and depression. The woebot, a computer coach, uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) practices to walk people through calming exercises, and can give them someone to talk to. Woebot can also check in on you daily to see how you are doing and give you support. This is a great app to recommend for parents to help their children, and actually has been supported by research.
Sanvello
Sanvello is also an app that has roots in CBT and is designed to support people with anxiety. It includes guided meditations, a daily mood tracker, and other activities and videos. It can be set to alert you daily so that you can check in and work through any anxiety you might be feeling. This is a great app to recommend for parents to help their children.
Breathe2Relax
This simple app is perfect for helping people practice deep breathing. It includes visuals that you can follow as you breathe. It also can be customized to the breathing pattern that you would like. The calming voices and imagery make this app perfect to use when working with students who are feeling upset or anxious.
These apps are great to recommend to teachers and parents and to use with older students. By no means should these apps replace therapy, but they can be a great additional tool for students to use. Each of the apps is available for free download on Google Play and in the App Store.
Principal's Perspective-- Notes from Mr. Duffy
Please send your child with a mask each day. We are running low on our supply of disposable masks. Thank you for your help in meeting this expectation.
