Lastly, I want to let you all know that we have an interim assistant principal! I am proud to announce, Mrs. Brooke McCoy is going to be joining our Bobcat Family. Mrs. McCoy has been serving as our Student Support Services Coach for the last few years and already knows our teachers and many of our students. She will take over as the kindergarten, first, and second grade assistant principal in January. Please see her message below.
I hope everyone has a safe and restful holiday break. We will see you all soon!

A Message from our new Assistant Principal- Mrs. McCoy
My name is Brooke McCoy and I am excited to serve as the Interim Assistant Principal at Bush Elementary. This is my 16th year as an educator and I have taught in Aldine ISD and Conroe ISD. For the past 5 years, I have served as a District Instructional Coach for Conroe ISD's Student Support Services Department. My husband and I reside in Montgomery where we raise our two boys, Evan and Levi. In my spare time, I love to run (I have completed two half-marathons) and camp all around Texas with my family. I can't wait to meet all of the families and students at Bush and be part of the Bush Bobcat family!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Brooke McCoy
A Message from our Specials Team

Happy Holidays from your Specials team!
A Message from our Counselor - Mrs. McGhee

Thank you to all of our Holiday Helpers. We were able to make the holidays a little brighter for over 50 children! Your generosity and kindness is very much appreciated.
Classroom Counseling Lessons - We have been working on a variety of skills and concepts in my last round of counseling lessons. See below for grade-level information. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for additional resources.
Kindergarten - Personal Space
We read Harrison P. Spader, Personal Space Invader by Christianne Jones and talked about the importance of respecting personal space. We also discussed how our personal space “bubble” can change depending on the environment we are in.
First Grade - Kelso’s Conflict Management
First grade began learning about Kelso and conflict management. In their first Kelso lesson, first graders were introduced to Kelso’s choice wheel and taught the difference between small and big problems. Small problems are ones they are smart enough and strong enough to handle on their own. Big problems require going to a trusted adult for help. This link contains more information on Kelso and conflict management. https://kelsoschoice.com/free-resources/for-parents/
Second & Third Grade - Kelso Review
We reviewed small versus big problems and the nine Kelso conflict management skills. Students then practiced using their decision making skills with the “what would you do?” game.
Fourth Grade - Respecting Diversity
In fourth grade we read the book The Crayon Box That Talked by Shane DeRolf and discussed the importance of appreciating our own and others' unique traits and respecting others that may be different. We concluded with a puzzle activity to demonstrate how our different puzzle pieces, when put together make beautiful picture.
