Build Skills Every Day

Little interactions every day can add up to a BIG foundation for learning.

  • Talk: "More" is a common first word. Before you give more of something to your baby, ask, "Would you like MORE?", and wait for her response. When she makes any sound, say, "Ok!", and give her more.
  • Sing: Put on a concert with stuffed animals. Have them take turns singing in silly voices.
  • Read: Read to a pet, read to a stuffed animal, or read to a tree with your little one. Later, you may see your child "reading" to them in their play!
  • Write: Sticker artwork is a great way to develop fine motor skills, and add a pop to a scribbly landscape.
  • Play: What can you make with a big box? Use your imagination to make it a house, then a boat, then a race car!

Go Ahead... Sing!

Way up high in an apple tree,

Five red apples smiled at me.

I shook that tree as hard as I could!

Down came an apple.

Mmmmm.... it was good!

(Count down to "no apples!")
