Notes from the Principal
Dear Parents,
Only a four-day week, but one packed with activity! How about the generosity and service engagement of our WMS students and community? During our Beta Club Toy Drive this week, we collected over 700 items to pass along to less fortunate children. In a truly collective effort, students from EVERY HOMEROOM IN OUR SCHOOL participated! That’s amazing, and we applaud this Beta Club endeavor.
Our 7th graders are “glowing crazy” this evening, and we’re excited to host our very first PTSO Dance of the year! Basketball is underway, and we’re off to a hot 2-0 start with BOTH teams. Good luck to Coach Bass and our Robotics Team that competes at the Ag Center in Monroe Saturday. Good times and learning: we are officially one-third through our year with the end of the grading period on Tuesday. Check in with us by way of PowerSchool and Canvas, and let’s bring T2 to a successful close!
Happy Friday Weddington, and enjoy your weekend!

Absence/Early Dismissal
Parents, if your child will be leaving school early, please send a note to the homeroom teacher with the dismissal time. Students who leave before or arrive after 12:15 pm will be marked absent for the day. There are no dismissals allowed after 3:30 pm. If you send a note for your student to be in the office at 3:30 pm and you arrive after the 3:30 pm deadline, if your student is not in the office waiting for you the office staff will not call your student out of class. Also, all early dismissal and late arrivals from medical appointments must have a note from the doctor in order to be excused.
When students are absent it is not necessary to call the school. Be sure to send a note to the homeroom teacher stating why the student was not in school. UCPS will notify you through Connect-Ed if your student was
absent.
