Message to Greenlodge Families:
Dear Families,
As we enter the third week of our school closure due to Covid-19, we will focus on making connections between teacher and student, and student to student. Many of you have suggested using Zoom or Google Meet as a means to virtually connect students with classmates and teachers. The Dedham School Administrators hear you and agree; and we are working to create norms, procedures and permissions to provide equity and protect individual privacy. Please be patient we will using this method of communication shortly.
In the meantime, please be sure to engage in two-way communication with the school and your child's teacher through email, phone calls, video/pictures, surveys and google docs/classroom. It is important to establish a routine for both you and your child. The governor has recommended students spend "half the time" at home working as when in school.
Here is a sample schedule:
8:30 - Get Dressed and Eat Breakfast
9:00 - Watch the morning announcements and begin School Work
10:30 - Snack and fresh air break
11:00 - School Work
12:00 - Lunch and Outside Play (see PE activities for ideas)
1:00 - Choose an enrichment activity - Art, Music, Library Media
2:00 - Email your child's teacher, post a picture to class Instagram or submit work through Google docs/classroom to share the work you have done.
I recognize that every Greenlodge family has a unique situation during these times, and not everyone will be able to manage the closure in the same way. While we want our students to engage in academics during the closure, I want to emphasize the the health and safety of our families is most important!
Kind Regards,
Ashley Bodkins
