4th Nine Weeks
Message from your Principal
Eagle family, I hope you all enjoyed your spring break these last two weeks. I pray you all were able to rest and recharge for our final nine weeks. The saying "attend school all day every day" has never been more important. We have STAAR exams coming up in a little over a month and our educators are focused on getting our Eagles ready for that very important exam. Please make every attempt to have our scholars at school for the rest of the year. If you know your child has lost credit, please contact Ms. King, our Assistant Principal who oversees attendance. Her contact info can be found below.
Also please ensure your child has finished all their HB4545 hours (30 hours). If you are unsure of the amount that your child has completed, please contact the school.
Finally, Ensor is handling issues daily regarding cell phone usage which include inappropriate use of the cell phone, posting on social media, and cyber bullying. Beginning this nine weeks, we will require all scholars to turn off their cell phones at 8 AM at the beginning of the school day and they may turn them back on at the end of the school day. If parents or your children need to get in contact with one another, you may contact the school or have your child call from the front office. Scholars will no longer be allowed to use their phones during lunch. They will be required to have their phones in their backpacks all day and if caught using the cell phone, parents will be required to pick up the cell phone after it has been turned into the front office. We thank you for your support with the cell phone policy. We want to ensure all our scholars are safe and happy while attending Ensor. If you need to contact your child during school or leave them a message, you can call 915-937-6000.
I wish everyone a wonderful week and enjoy the rest of your break!
When Do Scholars Return to School?
Tuesday, March 22nd
Pedestrian Safety
Pedestrian safety is an initiative we are starting in #TeamSISD. I want to remind you to please slow down when you are driving around the school. Please refrain from using your cell phones and be aware of scholars who may be crossing. I also want to remind our children about the importance of using crosswalks when walking to and from school or getting off and on the bus.
MASK UP ENSOR
We are continuing to highly encourage masks for all scholars due to rising COVID cases in the area. Our number one priority is scholar safety and are asking our parents to assist us with teaching our children about proper hand washing, coughing or sneezing into their elbow, and wearing a mask. It is also important that our scholars are refraining from touching their eyes, nose, and mouth during school. We thank you parents for your support.
Attendance
Please ensure your children are attending all day, everyday. If in the event that your child is absent for an illness or a doctors visit, please turn in documentation to our front office so that the absence will be excused.
Scholars with 5 or more absences up until now are now falling below 90% of their instructional time. These scholars will need to initiate a 45 Day Attendance Improvement Plan and be required to attend Loss of Credit (LOC) sessions.
Dress Code
Dress code is being enforced. Any scholar out of dress code will be required to attend after school detention on Fridays for 30 minutes. Warnings were given the first two days we came back from break. Transportation WILL NOT be provided for those who receive detention. Please click here to view our dress code policy.
