Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 20th September 2019
Year 5 Go on a Pilgrimage
Lindisfarne Invasion!
At the time of publishing, they are on their way back home, so we will hope to report more details in next week's Update.
Why have Year 2 been baking?
As you can see, the children have enjoyed baking bread to help them think about their topic this term, 'How great was the Great Fire of London' and have managed it more successfully than the bakery on Pudding Lane!
Reading Stars is Back
Following the success of our reading iniative last year, children across the school are again given the challenge to become a reading star, champion and leader. At the request of last year's leaders there will also be a brand new award for children who have gained all three awards.
In addition, new rewards have been chosen by these children, including class awards for classes who are gaining the most stars.
Please look in your child's reading record for the challenges. As ever please let your child's teacher know if you have any questions.
Getting into the UCI cycling spirit!
A group of the children have also been completing their 'bikeability' sessions which will help them to cycle safely on the roads.

Up until 3rd November, when you spend £30 or more in any Aldi store, you’ll receive a special Team GB sticker – if our school works together to collect 300 stickers, we will automatically receive an exclusive school sports kit, in addition to entry into the £20,000 prize draw!
