37 Days Remaining (just about)

Please do all you can to be in your classrooms every day. Your students need you now as much as they have needed you all year. You are constants in their day-to-day routines.

Please continue to monitor students in the hallways, classrooms, and where ever they are gathered. We have approximately 37 days left in this school year and we all have become lax in some areas. Let's work together to ensure the following:

•We are arriving on time each day

•We are bringing students into their first period class as expected each morning

•We are showing up for our morning duty each day

•We are giving them our best every class period, every day

Dress Code

Students have banded together to decide to violate dress code on certain days. Please check dress code first period every day. Complete referrals as necessary and send the students who are out of dress code to the back office.

Next Round of Testing

Please do not request a personal day or a sick day during the week of May 9-13. Of course, if it is an absolute emergency, we will accommodate you.

Headache? We will have ibuprofen.

Tummy trouble?? We will have Pepto Bismol and Immodium.

Dry mouth? We will give you a mint.

Sore feet? You can sit once in a while--but not all the time!

In all seriousness, your students need you here on these days.

Attendance Update:

How can we work together to get kids here?

As you can see, we had 2 good days where we either met or exceeded our goal of 95%. You can also see that there were 3 days where we were close---93% and 94%. What can we do to get our kids to class? To meet our goal we can have only 14 to 15 absences in each grade level. When we tested ELAR a couple of weeks ago, we had 98% attendance in 7th grade!

Let's continue to make those calls home and do all we can to get our students to school. Please be sure to submit your call logs to Sandra Smithwick.
