Kindergarten Student's of the Month for October
Rm. 109-Ms. Cowling
In Ms. Cowling's class, Calviyuane is the star student of the month. He makes good choices and has been a great listener since the first day of school. He works well with his classmates and has been a great helper from day one. Way to go Calviyuane, keep up the great work!
Rm.110-Ms. Davis
Guess who is Ms. Davis' shining star this month? Her name is Yazmere and she is SO "Ready to Learn". She is a model student who displays many of our schools' characteristics. She is honest, responsible, caring, and very respectful. She completes all her homework and even asks for more. She is kind and helpful to her classmates. Great job, Yazmere! Way to Go!!!!!

Shining Star:
It is my pleasure to announce Alexandra as Ms.Drake's Shining Star for the month of September! Alexandra comes to school every day ready to learn and participate. She exhibits integrity by doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Congratulations Alexandra!
Rm. 112-Ms.Turner
Star Student
In Miss Turner's class, Luv is the Star Student of the month! She has made helpful choices almost everyday of school so far this year! She works well with her classmates and has been ready to learn each day. Congratulations Luv!
Kindergarten SOL's for October
Math: For October, we will be finishing up the K.1 standard which includes counting and writing numbers to 20. Following this we will move on to the K.2 standard which involves students comparing sets of objects to determine which has more or less.
Language Arts: We will continue our focus on letter names and letter sounds. We will also dive more into understanding fictional texts through answering questions, talking about characters and setting, and making predictions (K.9).
Science: This month we will begin exploring our Five Senses (K.2).
Social Studies: We finished up learning about communities and good citizenship and we will begin learning more about locations and location vocabulary (i.e. above/below, near/far, left/right)

November 5th: 2-hour Early Dismissal (Parent Teacher Conference)
November 6th: No School for Students (Parent Teacher Conference)
November 12th: Report Cards Sent Home
