January 4th PD
Jan. 4 is designated as a professional development day for the district. The decision has been made to use the entire day for professional development focused on instructional strategies, instead of a portion of the day given for classroom work (entering grades, grading papers, etc.) We will start promptly at 8:00 AM in the Library with Day 2 our our PBS classroom strategies training with Dr. Mitchell.
Since January 4th is a contracted day for teachers, requests for leave on that date will only be granted for emergency situations. As set forth in district policy, district leave is not normally granted for the work day before or the workday after scheduled school holidays or days scheduled for semester examinations. Thus, requests for district leave will not be approved for January 4, 2016.
Additionally, the following activities have been planned for Special Education staff:
•SLPs, Elem. Resource, and School Psychological Examiners will attend Central Auditory Processing Disorder training with Capital Region Audiologists
•Paraprofessionals will have a full day of training with the Thompson Center at Hawthorn
•Small group of Initial CPI training participants
