Little Big Stuff!

  • Please look at your website and make sure it is up to date! Make sure your information and schedule reflect what is happening with your learners.
  • Remember to log your exercise activity in ActivTrax.
  • Make sure you read the SRI book and sign off in the Library.
  • If you haven't cleaned your projector filters in a while, please do this before the break!

Merry Christmas!

I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope your holiday break is filled with laughter, love, and happiness. I appreciate all you do for our kids and for each other. Thank you for your continued dedication and for all of your support.

Infinite Campus

*Be sure to update your grades in Infinite Campus by Tuesday of each week. This allows the weekend for any catch up with grading and entry into IC. Remember, we can assess student progress through observation and discussion, in addition to projects and specific tasks/assessments.

Character Trait- Kindness/Compassion

January 4th PD

Jan. 4 is designated as a professional development day for the district. The decision has been made to use the entire day for professional development focused on instructional strategies, instead of a portion of the day given for classroom work (entering grades, grading papers, etc.) We will start promptly at 8:00 AM in the Library with Day 2 our our PBS classroom strategies training with Dr. Mitchell.

Since January 4th is a contracted day for teachers, requests for leave on that date will only be granted for emergency situations. As set forth in district policy, district leave is not normally granted for the work day before or the workday after scheduled school holidays or days scheduled for semester examinations. Thus, requests for district leave will not be approved for January 4, 2016.

Additionally, the following activities have been planned for Special Education staff:

•SLPs, Elem. Resource, and School Psychological Examiners will attend Central Auditory Processing Disorder training with Capital Region Audiologists

•Paraprofessionals will have a full day of training with the Thompson Center at Hawthorn

•Small group of Initial CPI training participants

Required Training Videos

All training videos must be watched and completion forms submitted by February 1, 2016. These training videos are required by state law and/or district policy, and you must annually provide confirmation that you have completed each of the training modules.

Staff members in certified positions are required to watch:

  • Discrimination, Harassment & Retaliation
  • Identifying Signs of Sexual Abuse in School Children
  • Standard Precautions for Avoiding Infections
  • Student Discipline

Staff members in non-certified positions are required to watch:

  • Identifying Signs of Sexual Abuse in School Children
  • Standard Precautions for Avoiding Infections

You may watch the videos at your convenience by logging in to your SchoolWires account. (If you experience trouble logging in to SchoolWires please contact Jan Lange at 659-3121). Once you have signed in, you can view the videos by selecting the "District Departments" drop-down menu, then selecting "Human Resources", and then finally the "Staff Training Videos" on the left side of the page. Once you have finished watching all required videos, you will log in to TalentEd Records and submit the completion form that is in your "Needs Attention" task list.

As a reminder, TalentEd Records functions best in Google Chrome. Your user name is your firstname.lastname and your password is what you use to log in to your computer each day.
