SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY for 9th, 10th and 11th grade
The Young Masters program offers $10,000 awards ($5,000 per year for two years) for the pursuit of advanced study, before college, to the state’s most talented 8-11 grade artists and performers. Applications are being accepted in the areas of visual arts, literary arts, music, theater, dance, musical theater, folk and traditional arts, and media.
- Applications and required supporting materials must be submitted online by 11:59 CDT November 15, 2019.
- Applications, information and guidelines are available online at http://tinyurl.com/youngmaster.
- students must be legal U.S. residents living in Texas and participating in a school-based program, a summer institute, a specialized course of study, or private lessons from a qualified professional instructor.
- They must maintain passing grades in all academic areas. The Young Masters will be selected by a citizen panel of experts from across the state based on artistic excellence, level of commitment and quality of their proposed plan of study.
Young Masters is a joint initiative of the Texas Commission on the Arts and the Texas Cultural Trust.

All students going on the trip should have the following:
$50.00 deposit (paid in Sept)
$75.00 1st payment (was due Oct. 15th)

Texas Renaissance Festival Early Music Competition (Varsity only) November 6th
- 2nd - 7th period.
- Jeans and polo
- Students will be on their own for lunch. Bring $.
- Students must be eligible to participate.

- Handbook and Medical form (attached at the bottom of the newsletter). Students have a 0, but it will be replaced with a 80 if they turn it in this week.

Next Flag Fundraiser Saturday November 9th 9am
- Students can receive credit towards their Spring Trip or Letter Jacket points
- Flags; Students need a hammer, towel, screwdriver and SUV or Van.
- Flags: Pick up Tuesday, November 12th.
- Flyers: Students receive letter jacket points for setting out flyers.
- Flyers: Students do NOT: knock on doors, take money, or actively solicit for the flags.
Voice lesson slots open in 2nd & 4th period
Private voice lessons are available to any choir member during the school day. The cost for lessons is $24.00 per 25 minute weekly lesson totaling $96 for a typical month and is due at the beginning of each month. We are honored to have Miranda Newman as our Voice Instructor.
