OCTOBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH

A HONOR ROLL 1ST SIX WEEKS

Everyone on the A Honor Roll list should have received their BJH decals by now. Students will receive one 4 inch BJH decal the first time they make the A Honor Roll list. Students also have the opportunity to receive the 2 inch decal each six weeks. This is just another way we like to recognize the academic efforts of our students.

Big image

Students from Mrs. Romero class set up Bronco Market every Tuesday and Thursday to sell school supplies. This is part of Mrs. Romero's Employability's class that teachers students the basics of running a small business.

BLACK AND BLUE FOOD DRIVE RESULTS

Collectively HEB schools donated just over 66,500 items of food for 6Stones!

Bedford Junior High donated 5,500 items bringing our total to 6.31 cans per student. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to overcomes Hurst JH’s 7,286 items which was 6.64 items per student.

I am still proud of the effort from our families and students of Bedford, your generosity always amazes me. However the community is the real winner with all of the items donated the many needy families will be served by your donations.

CAFETERIA NEWS

We are in the last week of the second 4-week cycle of the Cafeteria Cleanliness competition. A and C lunch have 50 total points while B lunch has 47 points. At the end of this week if any lunch does not earn at least 70 total points they will have Grade-level seating all of next week. The more students who volunteer to stay inside at the end of their lunch to help clean, the better chance the lunch earns 4 or 5 points for the day. If you are not going to help clean, remember to still do your part by cleaning up after yourself and making sure your table is clear of trash before going to the courtyard.

The Cafeteria Helpers of the week are:

Jakyla McCormick for A lunch

Anna Marceca for B lunch

Treston Hemphill for C lunch.

American 2 beat Hurst Wednesday night 38-34 in a back and forth battle.

Xander Lynn led the way with multiple long touchdown runs and Jackson Cupp sealed the victory with the game winning interception. Great job Broncos let's continue this streak next week against Harwood.

National 1 team got off to a great start against Harwood A taking a 0-16 lead at halftime.

Chase Henderson and Riley Mella both had first half touchdowns and James Kebaso put both PATs right down the middle. However, the heat, with very few backups, got the best of the Broncos and Harwood overtook them late for a 21-16 loss.

National 2 also has had a number of injuries of late and was unable to get going against Harwood B.

They lost 26-0 despite an awesome effort from Rowan Brock and a great debut from Caleb Fox who was recently promoted to the National team.

Bedford National takes on crosstown rival Hurst National this Monday. They will continue to fight through their injury plague and come out on top against the Red Raiders.
