First Week of School

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year! First Week of School

School starts Monday, August 24th at 9:00 a.m.

Please have your child logged into their Schoology account over the next few days to start getting familiar with the layout and features in the new learning management system. Access the link at the bottom of the newsletter for assistance.

Teacher will be offering live virtual teaching a large portion of the period during the first week of school. We expect students to be logged in and participating. The bell schedule is posted at

School Supplies Request

We are excited to welcome students back to school and want to ensure that they all have the necessary tolls for learning. If your child is in need of a backpack and/or other school supplies, please fill out the google form

Northside Tutoring Information

We are happy to announce that Northside ISD is providing Virtual Tutoring. Certified teachers will provide online tutoring support to NISD students after hours. The Virtual Teacher Tutor will provide assistance with the student via video conferencing. Students will be assigned to a tutor by requesting help in Math, English , Science, and/or Social Studies.

The site will be open for tutoring:

Monday - Thursday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Elementary)

6:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Secondary)

Saturday 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (All levels)

Sunday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (All levels)

More information about how to access this Virtual Tutoring will be provided as soon as it is available.

Child Nutrition Information

The Child Nutrition Department will open 65 "Grab-n-Go" meal locations beginning the first day of school. Under program guidelines, a student’s eligibility for Free, Reduced, or Paid status will be in effect.

The NISD Meal Pass will allow pickup of meals at any serving location between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. while maintaining compliance. A copy of the NISD Meal Pass must be given at the time of pickup. Meal Service is for NISD enrolled students only. There will be no handling of money during curbside service.

Payments may be made online or at the cafeteria.

Congratulations to Jacinta Murillo for her 1st place award in Congressman Joaquin Castro’s 2020 Congressional Art Competition. The submission is titled, “Skin Deep”.
