Articles of Confederation

Advantages
Some advantages of the Articles of Confederation include a unified army, each state had one vote in legislature, could deal with foreign countries and states had power.
Disadvantages
There were so many disadvantages to the Articles of Confederation. The national government couldn't enforce laws and they couldn't tax. They needed nine out of thirteen to pass a law but all thirteen to amend a law. They had no Executive or Judicial branch. I think it's founders made it this way so that states could have more power. The founders wanted each state to have power so that each state could make laws and govern themselves according to their own needs. This failed miserably when the states started taxing each other and hurting trade. This left the states to suffer economically.
