VOCABULARY
- Copyright: work that is claimed by the author and isn't able to be taken from them or claimed by another; it is a law.
- Fair Use: work that includes work from another, but is fairly distributed by either including a link, the original authors name, etc.
- Piracy: using another authors work without permission or without giving them credit.
- Plagiarism: claiming that another persons work is yours when it is not.
- Digital Footprint: a set of everything a person does on digital media.
Copyright
A lowercase c inside a circle is the symbol for copyright.
Fair Use
Fair use is a policy and it is a crime if you choose to ignore it.
Piracy
There is a skull and cross bones along with this word because it is a crime and it is not a good thing to do.
Plagiarism
If you copy everything on a report straight off the internet, that is the act of plagiarism because you are taking another authors work and claiming it as your own.
Digital Footprint
Everything that this person did on the internet is now part of his/her footprint.
