Tiger Pride Marching Band
Congratulations to the SJHS Tiger Pride Marching Band for all of their hard work and success this year! To prepare for home football games, competitions and parades, the group rehearsed twice a week from 6pm - 9pm and also attended two Saturday rehearsals.
During October and November they participated in the following events:
- October 15 - CSBC Colony High School Band Premier: After only 31 days of practice, Tiger Pride earned 6th place with a score of 56.30.
- October 22 - SCSBOA Cleveland Field Tournament: 4th place; score of 56.00
- October 29 - SCSBOA Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands: 4th place; score of 55.8
- November 2 - SCSBOA Rancho Verde Tournament of Bands: 2nd place; score of 57.70
- November 12 - Oxnard High School Marching Band & Auxiliary’s 27th Annual Field Show Competition: 3rd place; score of 60.30
The band is led by Mr. Patrick Harris who joined the SJHS staff in September 2022. He invites students to come out and see what they do as a band and strives to provide structure and discipline to facilitate success. “I hope to develop a robust, high and attainable music program here at San Jacinto High School!” commented Mr. Harris. He also stated, “Our students are feeling proud and more confident in their musicianship…It is only up from here on out!”
We look forward to many additional successes for the SJHS marching band students!
STAFF SHOUT OUTS & KUDOS
KUDOS TO:
TORI GOROSAVE (Teacher, SJLA): Mrs. Gorosave has gone above and beyond in guiding our new staff on campus, as well as monitoring our WASC accreditation process. She has coordinated and led our Parent Workshop nights at SJLA. She has even baked treats for every Cadet who earned a 4.0 at Quarter 1. We are so thankful to her for taking care of the finer details on our campus that sometimes get overlooked.
DANIELLE RODRIGUEZ (Special Ed Instructional Aide): Danielle rushed to the aid of a Substitute Preschool Teacher who was injured and she provided first aid while waiting for EMS. Thank you for caring for others!
This employee is awesome!
