Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
As previously shared earlier this week, the PUSD Board of Education as well as the CDPH “Safe for Schools” Team approved our plan to bring students back in a phased-in approach, expanding the small cohort model. As we told you earlier this week, we will be expanding our on-campus cohorts with small groups divided by grade levels while we await the County entering the red tier. This temporary one-day-a-week schedule will stay in place until the County moves from the purple tier to the red tier, at which point we will notify you of the start date of when we will be moving to the A/B two day-a-week schedule.
Starting Monday, March 15, this is the temporary one-day-a-week schedule (see above image) for all students selecting to return to on-campus learning.
Students on Campus this Monday are 6th Grade Cohort A
Here is a video of our schedule LINK
Did you change your clocks for Day Light Savings Time? Spring Forward.
Students should bring their ID Cards to School Everyday. If they don’t have theirs, it can be picked up in the Front Office during school hours (M-F, 7:30am-3:00pm).
Please help remind your student to have their ID card in their backpack. You may also want to take a picture of the ID card and put it in their binder or a pocket in their backpack. They can even take a picture of it on their own cell phone and show that at the gate. See this video to learn more...LINK
Students can also download the Synergy App if they have a phone and show the App when entering. This has been our most successful option as we learn our new Kiosks. Thank you for your patience. #KindRaiders
Reminder for Students...Elective Choice for Next Year must be entered into Synergy by Friday, 3/19
Students must bring their textbooks to school each day. Students are not allowed to share materials, including textbooks.
Our Bell Schedule remains the same. Homeroom starts at 8:00am, whether on-campus or virtually. Here's a BMMS one page Bell Schedule (all 5 days on one page):

We will not be using school lockers in order to promote social distancing.
2nd Trimester Ended Friday: Grades will be available soon for the 2nd Trimester. The 3rd Trimester starts Monday.
8th Grade Transition Meetings:
Your 8th grade student is being invited to attend a Student Transition Presentation on March 19th at 8:00am. These meetings are very important because counselors will show students how to select and register for next year’s classes. Please see the attached flyer for the Zoom details for the high school your student in planning on attending.
We appreciate the flexibility, grace and support we have received from our Black Mountain community.

Bus Transportation
Bus transportation will start next week. In anticipation of the imminent reopening of middle and high school on campus learning, the PUSD transportation department is pleased to offer the Spring Bus Pass (covering the remainder of the school year) at a new reduced price of $91.92 per student. This pass is prorated based on students attending two days a week. School Bus Passes that were previously purchased for the full semester price will have available credit. Any unused credit will be automatically applied to future purchases.
The PUSD transportation website is now open. Please use the link below to get to the on-line ordering page and click on the yellow school bus icon.

Bus Loop
When busing starts on Monday, it is important families know that the lane closest to the school will be closed off AFTER SCHOOL until the buses have cleared out. Please be kind in our parking lot. We need all students, staff and families to be safe.
