SCHOOL IS BACK & ONLINE
As you already know, we will begin the year remotely, with students logging in on their computers with their teachers each day. A sample schedule is shown below, but your child's teacher will be sharing specific schedules with you next week.
NOTE: this year's online experience will be very different from last Spring. ALL teachers will be using the same platform to deliver their assignments/projects, etc. It is called Canvas and you will be able to find your child's teacher's homepage for Canvas on our school website.
We will list below links to different "help videos" from the district in case you have questions. We recommend that you view a video FIRST if you have a question. If your question is not answered, we encourage you to contact us so that we may direct you to the right place.
As for our calendar (find the school year calendar here), we will remain in Remote Learning until Oct. 22. As of now, students will return to school on Oct. 26 in a "hybrid" schedule, with half the students in school for two days, a remote learning day on Wednesday, and then the other half of the school for the other two days. More information will be shared with this plan as we get closer to October.
We know this is going to remain a challenging time for families, as well as for the staff. Especially the first days, it will take some patience and getting used to. Remember that we want to make this a positive experience for all as much as possible. Communication is going to be crucial. To help with this, we are asking all families to sign up for Class DoJo, a communication app you can use on your phone. Your child's teacher will send you an invite for to register: it's easy and quick and it will let you stay in touch with your child's teacher.
We are launching a school-wide theme for this year that uses our "distance learning," new explorations, and "rising to the challenges" as a basis. It's also a mash-up of two well known songs just to add some fun. So this year, let's see "How far I'll go" and remember to "Go the Distance"!
Here's to an exciting new school year!!
Schedules for Elementary Students
Online (synchronous) time will be from 8:30-11:30 each day. Students will have breaks, and the morning will be divided into different subjects. Once a week, there will also be Art, Music, and PE classes, which will be scheduled for the same time each week, just as we do when here at school.
ATTENDANCE: Please be aware that attendance WILL be taken each day by the teacher during the first half hour of the day. Students need to be logged in and visible on their computer to be counted as "in attendance."
Check below or here for sample schedules for Kindergarten and 1st grade and then for grades 2-6.

WHO'S MY CHILD'S TEACHER THIS YEAR?
In addition, you should receive an email from the teacher during the day on Friday. It will include links to their class meeting for Monday, Canvas links, and one to our website and the Welcome Back videos they have prepared for their class.
If you need assistance locating your child's schedule, please contact the office.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION @ COLEMAN CONTINUES
To pick up meals, families will need to provide the student's last name/id number. The meals can be picked up by the parent, a sitter, relative or neighbor as long as the student's name is provided. All students at that household are eligible to receive meals. Meal service is available for all students and the system will record the meals based on the students eligibility. We will not be collecting money at the sites; students who are full pay or reduced can re-load their student account online through MySchoolBucks.com.
Watch for the email from District Food and Wellness Services.
