Homework and Reading Log This Week

There will not be any eClass homework this week. We will not have a regular reading log this week. The Six Flags reading log will take the place of the regular reading log. If your child would like to earn a Six Flags ticket, please have them read over the Winter Break and return their reading log by Jan. 6th (the wrong date was accidently put on the log). Late or incomplete logs will not be accepted.

Winter Party - Please read!

Our class is getting very excited for our party! Please remember that you are welcome to come join us on Thursday, December 17 at 1:00 for the party. We have been busily preparing a song for you, so the kids would LOVE to have you there! If you are unable to make it, I will record the performance and post it on our eClass page.

Field Trip

Please remember that permission slips for David Ginn's All About Money $how are due Wednesday December 16th. The cost is $3. No student will be denied the opportunity of participation because of failure to contribute, but the permission slip is still required. The performance will be in school on Friday, January 15 at 1:30pm.

Please let me know if you are in need of another permission form.

Purchasing a device for your child this holiday season?

As we return from winter break, I will be making more of an effort to implement BYOD for instructional purposes in our classroom. I will be checking my records for who has BYOD permission slips and contacting you if I need more information on your child's permission slip.

Please consider these criteria when purchasing a device:https://drive.google.com/a/gwinoakselementary.com/file/d/0B2Vf_BpByaGDU3dLZDBJSlNtZ2s/view

Using eClass Over Winter Break

Our class has decided that we want to keep in touch with each other over the winter break! I will be posting discussion boards throughout the break with different questions for students to answer. They can respond to the original post and respond to each other. I'll also be responding to posts! I'll be sending Remind updates when I have posted a new discussion, so encourage your kids to keep an eye on our course page!

About Ms. Bettler

This is my second year at Gwin Oaks - and I LOVE it here! I am so greatful to be part of such a wonderful community.

My family means the world to me. We are all very close. We love going to Disney World - my brother and I are huge roller coaster junkies and nostalgic 20-somethings. We also love playing with our bichon frise puppy, Sophie. She is such a trouble maker! In June 2016 I'll add on an extension to the family when I marry my fiancee, David!

Music is a very important part of my life. I have been playing piano since I was six years old. I have also been involved in some sort of choir or band since fifth grade.

As a teacher, my goal is to make sure that students know how valuable they are! It's not about if a child is smart, but HOW a child is smart. I strive to help each child see their own potential to make a difference in this world and give them the tools to succeed.
