9 Little Pumpkins
This Week
We had a great week in Room 17! Art activities included making pumpkin suncatchers, painting pumpkins with Legos, using dot markers on pumpkins, and exploring different Halloween playdoh mats. At the red table, we connected the dots, cut out jack-o-lantern eyes and noses, glued yarn on the letter L, and painted leaves. At circle time, we sang about 5 little pumpkins and worked on imitating hand motions. We practiced playing different musical instruments, including maracas and rhythm sticks!
During P.E., we played pass the pumpkin with both big and little pumpkins. We also sang Ring Around the Rosie while holding hands, and took turns jumping on and under the parachute. We then partnered up and sang Row, Row, Row Your Boat while moving our bodies forward and backward.
With our friends from Room 15, we played in our school dramatic play area! We enjoyed exploring the calendar, thinking about the weather, counting numbers, and matching letters. We took a walk around the school and practiced staying together. We also learned how to play a new game, Caribou, which works on our object identification and turn-taking skills.
