Parent Teacher Conferences Are Coming!

October 22-23rd- 10th Grade Pre-ACT test (DURING CLASS TIME)
October 23rd --Parent Teacher Conferences 4:30 to 8pm (see sign up below)
- MAP reports training for LCs @ 5:30-6:30pm (sign-up below)
October 24th -- NO ISL--Parent Teacher Conferences 1:00 to 8pm (see sign up below)
- MAP reports training for LCs @ 2-3pm (sign-up below)
Friday, October 25th- No School and No online lessons
Thursday, October 31st--High School Physical Education class @ 1pm
November 5th and 6th- School Pictures
MAP Reports Training
With the school year in full swing and MAP testing concluded, we are ready to go through what those MAP reports mean! Please join Sarah during Conferences to learn how to read the reports and start to set goals for your children.
Weds., Oct. 23 at 5:30-6:30pm
Thurs., Oct. 24th at 2-3pm.
Our learning goals for the session are:
- Parents will be able to read the MAP Progress Report and Student Goal Setting Worksheet.
- Parents will be able to set growth goals for their learners using the Progress Report and Goal Setting Worksheet.
You must sign up for the training so I can be sure to have your reports printed! Sign Up here!
Learning Coach Navigation Training
- Wednesday: 4:00
- Thursday: 2:00
Training will be in the marble entryway right outside of the auditorium. No need to sign up! Just show up!!
- Parents will be able to navigate the K12 system with efficiency to monitor progress and assess learning.
When: Wednesday October 23 4:30-8:00 and Thursday October 24 12:30-8:00
Where: OVS 3215 Cuming Street-2nd Floor Auditorium
Why: Parent teacher conferences are a time for the learning team (learning coach, learning facilitator, AND learner) to connect regarding the learners' growth goals for the school year using MAP data, current progress, and how the team can work together to finish this semester off strong. Think of it as a huddle in football! You are strongly encouraged to attend so you can rally the team around your learner to ensure a winning season!

Middle School and High School
Please note, middle/high school sign up are for one hour time frames. Conferences will be held on a first come, first served basis. Please show up during this time frame so that we can keep our numbers manageable.
Have questions or concerns you want to be able to meet with Sarah about 1 on 1? Have no fear, I created a sign up for you!! Sign up for a time (or 2) and we can sit and chat!!
OVS Fundraisers--Time is running out!
We have a few chances for you to help support OVS and get some coffee, and OVS gear.
UPDATE: We earned a total of $150 from our Chipotle and Panda Express fundraisers. Thank you OVS families!!
Hardy Coffee Fundraiser
Don't forget to add the OVS pawprint to your cart so OVS gets credit. Choose the last name of the learner you want to support. Doing so ensures that if a friend or family member orders coffee, we can get it to your learner for delivery. Orders will be fulfilled in November. OVS Gear this year includes 2 short sleeve options (one is the really soft kind), long sleeve, crew neck sweatshirt, and hoodie style sweatshirt. Order window will be open through October 20. It will be mailed, or can be picked up at school. Don't miss out!
