Green Ridge Students Sure Can Jump!
By: Mark Cap
Our school is proud to be involved in Jump Rope For Heart. Last year, we donated over a staggering $20,000 dollars to fight and successfully try to help outrun heart disease. If we beat our goal this year, our gym teacher Mr. Langan, our computer teacher Miss. Clay, and our very own principal Mrs. Lena will sleep on the roof of our school! After you donate to fight and kill heart disease, you get these cool Scare Squad prizes. However, it’s not all about the prizes. It’s about saving kids lives that want to live a normal life. Hopefully, we can all come together as a team and fight this horrific disease. Also, who wouldn't want to see Mrs. Lena, and our teachers up on the roof for the night?

Do you want to be a part of an amazing program called “Girls on the Run”? If so you’re in luck because Green Ridge is going to be having a team this spring! The spring team is being led by our very own second grade teacher, Mrs. Keul. Take our word for it as past members that this is truly a super fun after school program. Girls on the run is designed to help girls become better at running, and learn more about themselves as well as others along the way. The program helps girls to better understand how to handle different obstacles in our lives, and how to deal with them in a positive way. Not only do you run and learn about yourself, but you also get to play many fun games. The part we liked the best was being able to bond with teammates, and at the end of the season there is a celebration with a HUGE 5K race, which will be in Hershey! If this is something you are interested in joining and you are in grades 3 to 5 then you need to hurry, and register online now from Jan. 1st to Feb. 4th. Spots fill up fast! Practice begins the week of February 12th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:15.

Save the date, and mark your calendars because the 2018 Eagle View musical, "The Music Man" is going to be on March 16th to the 18th. Performances will be at 7 PM except the 18th when the show will be at 2 PM. The musical will be held at Eagle View Middle School. The show is about transformation. The main character, Harold Hill, goes from a crooked salesman, to a kind music director. You know the coolest part of this upcoming performance is that the students run the show ENTIRELY! The theme was even chosen by Eagle View students. The musical is an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to. Anyone is allowed at the show, but you do have to purchase tickets. For students it is $5, for parents or any adult, it is $10. If you are able to, and want a little taste of Broadway CV style then please plan on attending the musical! We will surely be looking out for any Gator Alumni that might be in the show! Break A Leg, Eagle View!
