Car Rider Lane Guidelines
- Car riders may only be dropped off and picked up within the designated car rider zone.
- Morning student drop-off begins at 7:00 AM. Afternoon dismissal of car riders begins at 2:25 PM.
- Have your child gather their belongings prior to getting to the front of the car rider lane.
- Have your child put their mask on before getting out of the car.
- All drivers should remain in cars.
- Remember to unlock your doors.
- Students MUST wait until FSES School Staff opens the car door in order to proceed from vehicles. This is for the safety of all students.
- If possible, all students should be loaded and unloaded through passenger side doors- Curb Side.
- Passing is not permitted in Car Rider Line. Like school bus loading and unloading zones, violators will have license plates turned over to the DCSS Police Department.
We thank you in advance for adhering to our rules as they all help keep your students safe around moving vehicles.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal
We need your help to ensure that you stay "in the know" about school system news and events. To do this, we need you to verify that all information is correct in our student information system, Infinite Campus.
Our automated messaging system pulls the phone numbers and email addresses from Infinite Campus, and we want to be sure that you receive all of the important messages from your school and from the district.
We ask that you log into Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once you are logged in, you will click “More” and “Census Verification” and follow the prompts to verify or modify the information for your household.
We ask that you complete the enrollment verification by August 28. We appreciate your help with this important annual verification for our students.
Please see the helpful links below:
- Log into Infinite Campus Parent Portal here.
- Click here for directions on filling out the enrollment verification.
- If you need to set up Parent Portal, please follow the directions available here. For directions in Spanish, please click here.
- If you have any problem accessing the “Census Verification” section of Infinite Campus or if you have a problem verifying or modifying the information, please email parent@dcssga.org
- As a reminder, if you wish to receive text messages from your school and the district, please opt in by texting 67587 and typing “Yes.”
Here Comes the Bus
Here Comes the Bus is available for parents and students to download now. To sign up, visit the Apple or Android store, or visit www.herecomesthebus.com.
Students are still encouraged to arrive at their stop five minutes early and to follow any additional instructions given by drivers. Parents are also asked to be at the bus stop in the afternoons to receive their child from the bus. If students are habitually brought back to the school as a result of an adult not being present, then the student will have to enroll in our fee-based After School Program.
Character Trait Words for August
Week of August 23rd - Tolerance: Respecting the individual differences, views, and beliefs of others
Birthdays
We enjoy honoring our students on their birthday. We announce the birthday child’s name on the morning announcements and allow families to bring in treats within the guidelines below.
Cupcakes/snacks must be store bought AND prepackaged/individually wrapped.
Also you may want to think about non-food items. The items listed below will still make your child feel special and they will last a lot longer than a food item.
- A game for the classroom
- A classroom book (A nice touch would be having your child pick it out, sign it, and date it.)
- A classroom set of items for each child to keep such as pencils, pens, erasers, markers, etc.
School Arrival and Dismissal Times
Students may be dropped off each day beginning at 7 AM. School begins each day at 7:40 AM. Students are considered late after this point and must be dropped off at the front of the school. School ends each day at 2:25 PM.
Absences and Tardies
Please do not send sick students to school. Students who are absent must submit a valid excuse for their absence within 3 days of the absence. Please only send a parent note or doctor's note. Attendance Notes should contain the student's full name, grade, date(s) of absence(s), parent's signature and contact number. Absences that are 3 consecutive days or longer require a doctor's note.
If your child should come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please call the school. Students who have been in direct contact should not report to school. A direct contact is someone who resides in the home with someone who tests positive for COVID or someone who was within 6 feet for 15 consecutive minutes or more of a person who tests positive for COVID.
