Columbus Christian School News
September 22, 2017
Note from the Principal,
As we wind down another week at CCS I am asking myself is it really the 22nd of September. Our current weather is suggesting that it might be the end of July! Tuesday was picture day and I must say that our CCS group cleans up pretty good for the camera. There were lots of beautiful smiles. It appears that God was shining brightly on the faces of our students.
Next week will be a new experience for me. I am so excited to be joining our Senior High students on the trip to Big Creek Missions in Kentucky. I can’t wait to see how CCS represents God in this place and shows the true meaning of “Servanthood”.
So as I close this week out I want to thank all of you for being part of my “pit crew”. One of our daily staff devotions this week talked about how important our “pit crew” is in our “race” to get the Word of God out to our students. Each member of the CCS family is an important member of my “pit crew” and I want you to know that even though it might not get said often enough, you are all vital to our success.
Have a blessed weekend.
In Christ’s Love,
Mrs. Donnell
Dress Code
CCS has updated our student dress code. The approved dress code is attached and will officially go into effect on October 16. The general philosophy and guidelines have remained the same and reflect a Christ-like image. Below are the two major changes.
Collared shirts are no longer required.
2. Shorts and skirts must meet the “fingertip” length on each student.
Thank you to the staff, students, parents and the board for providing input. It was very helpful and has allowed us to provide a dress code that meets the needs of CCS students, parents, staff and most importantly honors God.
Jr. Sr. High Washington D.C. Information
After surveying CCS families it has been decided that the school will be sponsoring a trip to Washington DC during the 2nd week of our Spring Break in March. The confirmed dates/times and information will be presented at a parent meeting to be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 5:30 pm. The overall trip will be outlined, financial information will be available and we will attempt to answer all of your questions that night. Please mark your calendars for Monday, October 2nd at 5:30 in the Sanctuary. The meeting should last no more than an hour.
