Welcome back to school! We are so excited to start another year with your students! As the school year gears up, there are lots of different events and programs that you or your students may benefit from!
Samaritan’s Feet Shoe Giveaway: Samaritan’s feet is an international organization that “serves and inspires hope in children by providing shoes as the foundation to a spiritual and healthy life resulting in the advancement of education and economic opportunities”. At this event, children will have their feet washed by volunteers and get a brand new pair of shoes and socks at no cost to families. This event is for children from head start - 18 years old and will take place at the Betty Englestad Arena on September 9th from 2pm-5pm. Please note that you MUST sign up through one of the school social workers to participate.
School Supplies: If your family is in need of school supplies or a backpack, please contact Mrs. Lester for assistance. We frequently have donations of brand new school supplies that are available for any and all students!
Purposity: Please remember to check out the GFPS Purposity App/website! Purposity allows our district social workers to post needs for our students with direct links to Amazon. The app gives the community an opportunity to purchase these things for our students, and the packages are delivered right to the school. There are new needs posted almost every day- our students have been greatly impacted by the generosity of our community through Purposity!
Donations:
A number of families and community members contact me throughout the year to ask how they are able to help serve our families. Aside from using the Purposity App, The following is a list of identified needs that would always be accepted as donations: school supplies, district approved snacks, Dietrich bus tickets, city bus tickets, gas gift cards, and grocery store gift cards. If you have further questions or donations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 701-317-6620.Still need class supplies? See lists below!
