OLSON OUTLOOK WEEK OF MAY 4

FINAL EDITION 2019-20 #36

THANK YOU!

I want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU for your support and partnership during my years as principal of Olson Elementary. I am grateful to our students and families for their kindness, hard work, and commitment to school. It has been a great honor to work alongside a dedicated and caring staff of professionals. Our shared goal to provide the best possible educational experience for your children has been an absolute JOY.

At the end of this school year I will be "retiring" from District 200. I celebrate many years of work with the district as a parent, teacher, instructional coach, and principal. We live in an amazing community with a strong and vibrant educational system for all learners.

I am excited about an new opportunity that will allow me to continue in the work of education, but in a different capacity. I am working with Aurora University to build the Teacher Residency program and to prepare new teachers through Elementary Education programming.

A new principal has been selected for Olson Elementary and she will begin in July. Her name is Stephanie Watson and she comes to us from Gray M. Sanborn Elementary School in Palatine School District 15. We have been working together to make the transition as smooth as possible, and I am excited about the next weeks and months as Mrs. Watson gets to know the students, staff, and families of Olson.

Again, thanks so much for sharing your children's education with me. It has been a privilege!

eLEARNING REPORT CARDS - HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Please watch this video from the D200 Elementary Principal team regarding eLearning, spring report cards, and grade level expectations during these challenging times.
