Staff survey on Bell Schedule
As we work to expand our potential here at AHS, we have been examining our current bell schedule to determine adjustments that we might make to better serve our students, staff, and community. In the fall, we conducted focus groups with parents, students, and teachers, and at this point, we have prepared a potential bell schedule and would love your feedback!
Please visit the link below to read about our goals, view a proposed draft of the bell schedule, and respond to two survey questions that will help us determine our next steps.
TAG - CISS Process
Teachers, as a reminder the CISS window opens next Monday, January 30, and runs through February 10. Rosters of non-TAG students will be in your mailboxes later this week and Frank Fortunato will share out with both the PowerPoint from January’s staff meeting and additional supporting documents to help with the process. If you have any questions beforehand, contact Mr. Fortunato directly (fortunatof@fultonschols.org). There will also be a Help Session for teachers who would like assistance on Thursday, February 9, after school at 3:45pm in the Media Center Project Room.

Quote for the week
“There are two ways of exerting one’s strength: one is pushing down, the other is pulling up.” —Booker T. Washington
Raider "Balance Days" for 2017 - mark your calendars!
We want to create a community filled with more balanced lives. The School Governance Council proposed a solution, and the Instructional Leadership Team agreed; thus, we have declared two nights a semester during the 2016-17 school year as "Balance Days."
February 15th
March 15th
The nights above are Wednesday nights the week of the 17th (to celebrate the class of 2017), and on these nights there will not be any homework assigned, no assessments will occur the next day, and no AHS meetings will be scheduled.
The idea is that Raiders will go home right after school and work to create balance in their lives. Staff members and students alike will take a night off. Club sponsors and coaches and directors may hold meetings and practices and games as needed. We feel students release stress through these extracurricular activities.
Please plan to enjoy yourself and work your assessments around these dates this year.
