SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Construction Update: Laura Kacer reported that the framing in the new ARC is almost complete, HVAC is complete, drywall top has been started, and the electric is being roughed in. At the baseball/softball complex, the bleachers are in the process of being installed, along with the construction of the dugouts and the pitchers mound. Work is still on schedule to finish BB field on May 13 with the first game on May 20. Softball will follow completion in 2 to 3 weeks.
Superintendent Goals: Laura Kacer, superintendent, and elementary principals presented a proposal for a 6-day Related Arts schedule that would allow more time for students to utilize services/programs such as special education, ESOL, ELP, and reading instruction.
UPCOMING MEETINGS
The next board meetings will be held on Monday, May 6 and Monday, May 20, both at 6 p.m. at the District's Administrative Resource Center, 5608 Merle Hay Rd, Johnston IA.
