Japan is a country in the Northeastern Hemisphere at 35 degrees and 41 minutes north, and 139 degrees and 41 minutes east. It is 377,944 km squared. It is a large producer of fish, rice, motor vehicles and automobile parts. It also exports iron and steel products. It doesn't produce much energy at all, and due to this it is one of the largest importers of coal and other things along those lines. It has many natural hazards to watch out for, like volcanoes. Most are dormant, but some aren't, so be careful. They have around 1,500 quakes a year. However, most of these are small tremors causing next to no damage. They have quite a bit of typhoons, too. And of course, tsunamis. Considering that the word "Tsunami" came from Japan, meaning "harbor wave", you can guess that it gets a few.
Some major cities to visit in Japan include: Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto and of course, Tokyo. Japan's terrain is usually rugged and mountainous. As for climate, it is cool and dry in the Winter, warm in the Spring, hot, humid and rainy in Summer, and cool in the autumn, with temperatures rarely dipping below 45 degrees. Japans population is 127,368,088. Well, it was as of July 2012. It is way more by now, however.
