No School/Off-site Learning Day

Bond Referendum Presentations
In February 2022, the Board created a Long-Range Facilities Planning Taskforce to assess the district's facility needs over the next 5-10 years. The Taskforce recommended projects to address challenges like rising enrollment, equal facility standards, and enhanced safety. Facility improvements of this size require a special election.
The special election will be on Tuesday, September 26th. Superintendent Slette will be hosting three community presentations to explain the projects and answer any questions community members may have. Every building in the district would see improvements if passed.
Election information can be found at https://www.west-fargo.k12.nd.us/domain/2969
Phones and Smartwatches
Phones and Smartwatches
In an effort to create a focused learning environment for all students, students’ phones and smartwatches are not available for their use during the school day. This is to minimize distractions, enhance student engagement, and promote a more effective learning experience for all.
How does this work?
· Students’ phones and smartwatches are not to be used during the school day, including class time and breaks.
· In case you need to contact your child during school hours, we kindly request that you call the school office at 701-356-2190. Our staff will ensure that any urgent messages or notifications are promptly relayed to your child.
We deeply appreciate your support and understanding in this matter. By working together, we can ensure that our students are able to fully focus on their education, enabling them to reach their highest potential.
Immunizations
Notifications went home last week for those students missing immunization records
Immunizations
North Dakota state law requires students who are attending school to be up to date on immunizations. North Dakota Century Code 23-07-17 mandates all students in kindergarten through 12th grade meet a minimum number of required immunizations prior to school entrance.
All children must be up-to-date according to the school immunization requirements or have claimed an exemption by October 1st of each school year or they must be excluded from school. Children enrolling in school after October 1st have 30 days to be up-to-date or claim an exemption or they must be excluded from school.

OFF TO A GREAT START!
What a great start to the school year! We are so impressed with how the students are learning the routines and procedures so well! Awesome work to all!
We just want to send out a couple reminders! Please let anyone dropping off or picking up your child know this information, too!
- No left turn out of the parking lot during drop-off and pick-up times. If you need to head south use the roundabout. This allows for our traffic flow to continue at a safe and reasonable pace.
- Parent drop-off and pick up is located in the South Loop. The north loop is for busses and daycares, walkers and bike riders. This allows for the various drop-off times for our daycares and safety of all the walkers and bike riders. Thank you!
- Please follow the flow of traffic with no line jumping.
- If using the drop-off/pick up lanes, please remember you need to stay in your vehicle.
Thanks so much for helping make this a great start to the year! We are so excited for all the things to come!
