Elderly Abuse
Abuse can take many forms – ranging from neglect to physical assault. Elders that may be most susceptible to abuse include those with dementia or disabilities. No matter what form it takes, nursing home abuse is illegal and needs to be stopped. In a survey conducted by The National Center on Elder Abuse, it was reported that elders who experience abuse had a 300% higher risk of death than those who had not been abused(http://elderabuse.sokolovelaw.com/national)
Nursing home abuse
This video explains how she put her mom in a nursing home and started to notice burses on her mom, so she put a hidden camera in the room to see what the nurses do to her. It turns out that her nurses would abuse her and not give her the proper care

Elderly Woman Poem
What do you see, nurses?
What do you see?
What are you thinking
When you're looking at me?
A crabby old woman,
Not very wise,
Uncertain of habit,
With faraway eyes?
Who dribbles her food
And makes no reply
When you say in a loud voice,
"I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice
The things that you do,
And forever is losing
A stocking or shoe?
Who, resisting or not,
Lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding,
The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?
Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse,
You're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am
As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding,
As I eat at your will....
